ChatGPT Images 2.5 is rolling out across ChatGPT, Work, and Codex.

OpenAI says ChatGPT Images 2.5 brings sharper details, more precise editing, and up to 50% lower image-generation latency versus Images 2.0, with Sketch, templates, in-image comments, and prompt sharing in ChatGPT. For developers, GPT-Image-2.5 Flare and GPT-Image-2.5 Sunburst are available in the API.

OpenAI ships ChatGPT Images 2.5 with Sketch and API Flare/Sunburst.

OpenAI says Images 2.5 is its new state-of-the-art image model for ChatGPT, with more natural lighting and richer textures, stronger reference-photo fidelity, and more reliable multi-turn editing. Product features include Sketch (draw a reference in ChatGPT), templates for formats such as posters and merch, comments on images, and sharing the prompt behind a generated image. Images 2.5 is rolling out to all ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex users across desktop, mobile, and web; GPT-Image-2.5 Flare and Sunburst are available in the API.[1]

ChatGPT Voice adds GPT-5.6 and Astra with simplified Live limits.

OpenAI's ChatGPT release notes say ChatGPT Voice can now use GPT-5.6 or GPT-6 Astra when it needs to search or reason through harder questions, with the same model and reasoning-effort controls as text chat. OpenAI is also simplifying GPT-Live daily usage limits: Go up to 3 hours with GPT-Live-1 mini; Plus up to 3 hours with GPT-Live-1; Pro ($100/month) up to 15 hours with GPT-Live-1; and Pro ($200/month) unlimited GPT-Live-1. Plus and Pro no longer switch to GPT-Live mini after hitting a Voice limit, and the separate Instant/Medium/High Voice intelligence levels are deprecated.[2]

Gemini orchestrates Docs, Sheets, Slides, mail, and tasks across Workspace.

Google says Gemini can now tackle complex tasks across Workspace as an intelligent orchestrator using Workspace Intelligence, from Chat, Drive, Docs, Slides, and Gmail. Users can generate formatted Docs, structured Sheets, or stylized Slides without leaving their current app; run deep research with source attributions; draft or send email; schedule meetings; and log reminders into Google Tasks. For external communication or calendar commitments, Gemini presents an interactive preview card for review before execution. Gradual rollout began September 2, 2026, for Business/Enterprise Standard and Plus, Google AI Pro and Ultra (scheduling excepted on Pro), and related education and AI add-ons, English only at launch.[3]

Claude Platform guidance targets cache hits, prompt audits, and effort.

Anthropic says many Claude Platform applications can cut cost without sacrificing performance by maximizing prompt-cache hit rate, removing prompting anti-patterns when upgrading to frontier Claude models, and calibrating effort to the task. The company put the guidance into the claude-api skill, including /claude-api prompt-audit, /claude-api cost-optimize, and /claude-api hillclimb. Anthropic reports that running prompt-audit on planted anti-patterns during an Opus 4.8-to-Opus 5 migration cut costs by 14.6% and raised accuracy by 5.3% on average in its customer-support benchmark test.[4]
